Marcia Lotter is a freelance musician, who spends much of her time on the road. She lives in Gualala but works two days a week in Mendocino. She has been making the 150-mile round trip to play in the Santa Rosa Symphony for more than 30 years. Marcia has a Tuesday night contemporary classical music radio program on KZYX and often plays for school assemblies with the Santa Rosa Symphony String Quintet under the auspices of Young Audiences, Inc. Her quartet Sonatina performs for weddings and special events. And famous pop stars, such as Smokey Robinson, Judy Collins, and Johnny Mathis have hired her for their pick-up orchestras when they come to town. Once she even performed for a birthday party at the farmhouse of Francis Ford Coppola.
